Impression of Holden After Chapter 5:

- After reading chapter 5 my impression changed a little bit on Holden. I was starting to think that he was a little strange and he might actually have something wrong with him but when he is writing that paper for his roommate Stradlater, he starts to tell a story about his brother who seemed like the perfect kid. The way he talks about him seems like Holden really liked his brother and loved having him as one. He tells you that his brother then died from being sick, and that night Holden slept in the garage and broke out all of the windows in the garage. He said his parents wanted to get him psycoanalysed, but even though he doesn't really admit it I think the reason he broke those windows was because of the death of his brother. He must have really cared for his brother and for him to all the sudden die really messed with his head. So after readding chapter 5 I think Holden is just misunderstood, and the death of his younger brother just messed with him alot and he just stopped caring anymore. His brother was a perfect student and all and look what hapened to him so he doesn't see a point in trying if that could just happen to him too...

First Impressions of Holden:

- My first impression is that I think he is just a really laid back kind of guy. He doesn't really care what people think about him hes just living his life the way he wants too. He doesn't seem to really want to try to hard when it comes to school which I feel the same way! He probably could do well in school if he put in the effort to do the stuff he needed too. He seems like he doesn't really go out to try to make new friends he is fine with being alone and by himself, but he is a pretty nice guy to his roommate and Ackley. In all i don't really have a problem with him so far and he seems pretty normal except for in the reading it seems like he talks to himself alot and thats a little bit weird...

3. Explain two struggles you or others face as you/they move from childhood to adulthood.

- One struggle that we may face is learning to provide for ourselves. Growing up kids could kind of depend on their parents for money if it was ever a really big problem, but once you move out and start to live on your own your going to have to learn to manage your money and also find a way to get an income for yourself. Once your an adult you have to start doing things on your own cause your parents wont be there to help you out in times of need.

- Another struggle would be is learning to manage your time and the different activities that you might be in or doing. In high school you kinda had help managing your time and activities cause you always had your parents there to tell you if you were going to be late or kept you on a schedule. When your an adult you will need to keep track of everything all yourself and make sure you know where your supposed to be when your supposed to be there without anyone telling you.
